Industry professionals will mentor and work with musicians and theatre enthusiasts to create a performance about Jersey.
ArtHouse Jersey is offering this opportunity to young adults aged 18 to 30 as part of 'Raise Your Voice, Jersey!'
It is a chance for those who have wondered how opera, musicals, or theatre is made to work alongside industry professionals in the creative process, and will put our island community right at the heart of it.
It will ask: "How do we capture the rhythm of Jersey? How do legends shape our island? Our story is full of extraordinary people - does there always need to be a hero and a villain?"
Whether people are interested in writing, music, theatre, singing, storytelling, or are looking for a new creative experience, this unique collaboration will allow creatives to see their ideas come to life on stage.
Jersey Opera House, where the show will premiere in spring 2026
Robyn Cabaret, Producer at Arthouse Jersey, is extremely excited to welcome anyone with passion;
"We really hope that this project will appeal to absolutely everybody who's interested in being creative and collaborating.
"There is no need to have any prior experience of the performing arts - we're really looking for young people that are intrigued and curious about theatre making and storytelling.
"We're thrilled to be working with an incredible team of artists from the opera and theatre world. They're not just here to lead, they're here to collaborate and guide and make sure that the voices of young people in Jersey are truly reflected in the final work.
"The way that we're structuring these workshops is the creative team that are based in the UK will be here on residency.
"We've identified a series of different workshops - some evening, some full day sessions, and we really hope that by structuring these workshops in a flexible ay means there will be an opportunity for people with all sorts of schedules to participate."
The process begins with a series of writing and composition workshops between Saturday 29 March and Sunday 6 April 2025.
It will be developed and presented in partnership with Jersey Opera House, where the show will premiere in spring 2026.
