With Bergerac set to return to our television screens, the big question is, who will be chosen to play Jersey-based sleuth, Jim Bergerac?
The legendary role is up for grabs as the classic British detective series is set to be reimagined by UK TV for a six-part revival series.
'Dr Who' screenwriter Toby Whithouse is confirmed to be working on scripts, along with 'Trust's' Brian Fillis, 'Three Pine's' Catherine Tregenna and 'Love Rat's' Polly Buckle.
Whithouse has called it a rare honour to bring back a show as beloved and iconic as Bergerac.
"Our mission was always to respect the show's history and legacy while making it impactful and relevant for a modern-day audience.
"Just like his predecessor, our Bergerac is complex, driven, brilliant and flawed."

UK TV's version of Bergerac will bring back much-loved supporting characters and introduce new friends and rivals.
Islanders have been telling Channel 103 who they would like to see take the role of Jim Bergerac:
Henry Cavill, he's the man.
I think if he was going to be a similar character, with the background that we knew Jim Bergerac had, I wouldn't want anyone who looks younger than what James, the character, was then.
So, I think Henry Cavill? No, too young, but someone with that middle aged, care-worn appearance would fit the bill.

Some people wanted to see the original Bergerac actor John Nettles, now 80, return to television screens, as the lead or as a cameo:
John Nettles, I would like to see.

Other islanders opted for more alternative castings:
Jack Lowden, yes!
Slow Horses is brilliant.
Garry Oldman? No.
Johnny Depp.
He's not got much work lately, I don't think, has he?
I like Tom Holland as an actor.
He's very versatile and he'd appeal to a bigger audience.

Other islanders suggested David Tennant or Michael Portillo could live up to the role as well.
However, people won't have to keep guessing for too long with the casting announced in the coming weeks.

A reboot of the 80s classic has been in talks since 2019, with public money suggested as one way to bring Jersey back in the spotlight.
The Minister for Sustainable Economic Development, Deputy Kirsten Morel, said in a statement:
“Government officers have been working closely with Visit Jersey and industry experts to assess the Bergerac project and its potential for an investment of significant amounts of public money.
"This work is ongoing but we are pleased to see that the producers and TV channel have announced that they are committed to producing the Bergerac remake."
