Two Local Football Fixtures Announced

The Jersey FA and Jersey Bulls will host the Solomon Islands and Stevenage respectively at Springfield Stadium.

The Jersey FA has announced a fixture with the Solomon Islands, as part of a deal with UEFA for international matches.

The U17s game will be played at Springfield Stadium on 27th April.

The JFA says its the result of ongoing collaboration with European football's governing body after the island's bid to become a UEFA member was turned down last February.

Meanwhile Jersey Bulls will welcome a football league club to the island this summer.

Gary Freeman's team will host Stevenage in a pre-season friendly on 6th July.

The League Two side's squad currently includes Kurtis Guthrie, who's career started in Jersey with St Clement and Trinity.

The Bulls will join the Combined Counties League next season.

"We are delighted to be able to secure this fixture and support Jersey Bulls in the launch of their new club.

"We hope that the advanced notice of this fixture will enable as many supporters as possible to take up the opportunity to travel to the island in July." - Stevenage Chief Executive, Alex Tunbridge.

The English club have been given an allocation of 150 tickets in the main stand.
