Rouge Bouillon Roadworks Start

The road between Queen's Road roundabout and the junction with Val Plaisant is completely closed to traffic until Sunday November 3, as part of work to resurface Rouge Bouillon.

Diversions are in place and motorists are asked to plan alternative routes.

"We thank the public for their cooperation during these important works whilst we repair the surface of this busy traffic route. The resurfacing will improve the road which has been found to be in urgent need of repair. The resurfacing project is taking place over the autumn half term with the aim of minimising the impact on residents, students and parents in the area.” - Rob Cabot, Highways Maintenance Manager.

Pedestrians can still use the route, but cyclists will have to dismount and use the pavement.

Local residents and businesses have been offered alternative access arrangements and temporary parking.

Progress on the work can be found here. You also won't be able to get to La Pocquelaye from Rouge Bouillon on Saturday 2 November.

"Due to the Summerland development site nearby and the need to install new utility connections and the requirement for Jersey Water to renew water connections in Rouge Bouillon, the project has been split in two sections so that we can work more efficiently with utility companies to minimise disruption.”

The work has also affected bus services, with more details below:

The second and final section of the project will take place during the autumn half-term next year and run from Queen’s Road roundabout to Saville Street.
