Plane Carrying Jersey Couple Crashes

A Jersey couple on their honeymoon have escaped unhurt after the plane they were on crashed in the Pacific Islands.

Jason Fox and wife Sally were on a single-engine Cessna that dropped out of the sky from around 4,000 ft.

The honeymooners were on a volcano sightseeing tour when the engine started to splutter.

The plane made an emergency landing on the island of Erromongo, crashing around 100 metres short of a grass runway.

It was left badly damaged in woodland with one of its doors hanging off.

An Australian tourist suffered a suspected broken ankle and needed to be helped away from the wreckage.

All four passengers on board were then taken back to the main island of Vanuatu on a commercial aircraft.
