The Soapbox Challenge returns to Mount Bingham today.
The event sees home-made machines, without motors, careering down the St Helier hill to raise money for Jersey Hospice Care.
Teams test their ingenuity and engineering skills to create an unpowered vehicle to get them from the old Fort Regent Swimming Pool down to the former TTS offices at South Hill.
Last year's record time was 34 seconds - setting this year's time to beat.
Food and drink stalls have been laid on for spectators, and it's free to come along and watch.
Practice runs start at 10am with the competition running from 1:30pm to 5pm.
