A man has been charged with two counts of inciting a sexual act with a child.
Scott Peter Graham Le Corre was arrested yesterday morning (Thursday 13 May) after several children reported being approached by a man on their way to school in St Helier.
They told school staff who reported it to the police.
Officers later arrested a 30 year old man at a private address.
Mr Le Corre appeared in the Magistrate's Court on Friday morning. He has been remanded in custody until his next appearance on 26 June.
The Education Department asked parents to talk to their children about what to do if a stranger makes them feel uncomfortable:
"..they should ignore them, get to a public place, and tell someone. Parents are also being asked to take simple safety precautions such as arranging for children to walk with a friend to and from school."
Jersey Police said officers would be making reassurance patrols around town schools over the next few days.
