Last COVID Measures Come To End

Jersey's emergency response to the COVID pandemic has wound up today, with the final restrictions removed.

Those with symptoms who want to test for the virus will have to pay for a Lateral Flow Test at pharmacies and supermarkets as the government stops offering free test kits.

Islanders will also not be asked to stay at home for 5 days after a positive result, with health bosses suggesting people should stay at home until they feel better.

Patients will no longer need to test before going into hospital or other care settings.

Ministers have been scaling back the emergency measures that were introduced in 2020 as COVID-19 spread across the world.

In January, free PCR testing was withdrawn, the contact tracing app was removed from stores and the COVID helpline was closed
