Jersey's walking footballers enjoyed success in their debut at the inaugural World Nations Cup.

Jersey's walking footballers enjoyed success in their debut at the inaugural World Nations Cup.

The island side reached the quarter finals of the Federation of International Walking Football Associations (FIWFA) competition at St George's Park -the home of English football.

"Walking Football in Jersey has progressed significantly since we started in 2020 and the team’s selection for the World Cup is testament to that hard work and commitment.” - David Kennedy, CEO of the Jersey FA.

The World Nations Cup kicked off on 24 August, with three full days of matches.

Jersey played in the Group B over 50s and won four of their six group games, including a 10 -1 thumping of Japan, but lost 1-0 to the Czech Republic in the knock-outs.

The final placing game saw Jersey beat Australia 8-2.

Jersey 3 -0 Singapore

Jersey 0 - 1 Italy

Jersey 1- 0 Basque Country

Jersey 1 - 0 Nigeria
