Jersey Hospice Care is helping brides find their dream wedding dress sustainability.
The charity hosted a pre-loved wedding fair at La Mare Wine Estate this weekend (24 February), showcasing gowns and other wedding attire.
Brides could find eco-friendly bargains for their big day, whilst supporting a Jersey charity.
The day was a success, raising £3,500, thanks to clothing donations from islanders and the time of its volunteers.
Generous contributions from Jersey businesses and institutions aided the day, including a full catwalk, flower displays, complimentary refreshments and the venue.
Julie Coward, an Ambassador for Jersey Hospice Care, says the charity is in the very fortunate position of having some wonderful donations from the people of Jersey, including bridal gowns.
"Half of them have been donated by Bridal Emporium, and the others have only been worn once.
They've made somebody happy, and they are going to make someone happy again.
We are raising money. In addition, we're seeing beautiful things not being thrown away, but being recycled."
Jersey Hospice Care is always looking for donations, including wedding attire.
Even if you could not make the fair, the dresses are still available, and Julie is available for private consultations and is contactable at [email protected].
