Jersey Fire Service called to lightning strike and flash flooding

A house was struck by lighting in Jersey and several roads were flooded in a thunderstorm on Tuesday (8 October).

Heavy downpours caused flash flooding on multiple roads, especially in the north of the island.

Jersey Fire and Rescue said it received numerous calls, including to a property hit by a lightning strike.

Driving conditions were hazardous on many routes.
