Islanders Asked What Minimum Wage Should Be

A public consultation has opened into what Jersey's minimum wage should be.

A public consultation has opened into what Jersey's minimum wage should be.

The Employment Forum is examining financial and economic conditions.

It wants to hear from workers, bosses, business groups and trade unions.

The work will inform what it recommends the next Social Security Minister do with the current minimum pay rate of £9.22.

“I’m very pleased that the Forum is once again able to undertake a comprehensive review of the minimum wage rates in Jersey. We’re looking forward to engaging with employees and employers and business and trade union organisations right across the Island and in all sectors of the economy. I’d encourage everyone with an interest to take part.” - Carla Benest, Chair of the Employment Forum.
