Guthrie At BBC SPOTY

Jersey's Serena Guthrie joined her England netball team-mates on stage at this year's glittering BBC Sports Personality of the Year Awards.

The squad was named Team of the Year 2018.

The Roses also took the Moment of the Year honour for their dramatic last-gasp win over hosts Australia in the final of the Commonwealth Games.

The new category was voted for by the public, ahead of England's World Cup penalty shoot-out win.

Serena has recently returned to Team Bath after a spell playing in New Zealand and Australia.  Last month she captained England for a three-match series against Uganda, in preparation for next year's Netball World Cup in Liverpool.

Millions of viewers watched the live show on BBC 1 on Sunday night.

Britain's Tour de France winning cyclist Geraint Thomas picked up the Sports Personality of the Year.

The Welshman beat Formula One world champion Lewis Hamilton into second place, while Harry Kane was third.

England manager Gareth Southgate took the Coach of the Year prize.
