Jersey's Fire Service is turning to young artists, asking them to design a fire safety poster.
The winning entry will be used across the island at bus shelters, promotional campaigns and banners outside Fire Station at Rouge Bouillon.
Children aged between 3 and 12 have the summer holidays to create the poster, whilst learning about how to reduce the risks of fires starting in the process.
Jersey Fire and Rescue has suggested ideas that could be promoted:
- When a fire starts, get out, stay out and call 999
- The importance of planning an escape route
- Making sure smoke alarms are working in the home
- Hazards in the home
Resources to help children can be found here.
The competition will run until the 1st September and judged by local firefighters.
