Extra road checks and police patrols have begun, to tackle drink driving in Jersey this Christmas.
The number of drivers caught over the limit is on course to top last year's 118.
As of 15 October, 111 offences had been recorded.
Police say the potential consequences include endangering life and losing your licence.
Inspector Lawrence Courtness, the force's Roads Policing lead, has a familiar message that he says clearly needs to be repeated:
"So far this year, 111 drivers have been reported for drink driving locally, so we must continue to reiterate the message that getting behind the wheel after consuming alcohol is not acceptable.
"Alcohol affects everybody’s ability to drive safely and it simply isn’t worth the risk. Plan ahead, get a lift, leave your car overnight, or catch the bus.”
SOJP Officers and Honorary officers will be doing extra patrols and roadside checks throughout December, to stop people who shouldn't be behind the wheel - including the morning after a night of heavy drinking.

Night-time patrols of St Helier have also been stepped-up for the Christmas party season.
The Community Policing Team will be out in town and licensed premises.
Their advice includes:
- Know your limit and pace yourself
- Make sure you eat food while drinking
- Avoid binge drinking
- Keep an eye on your drink
- Never accept drinks from strangers
- Don't leave your drink unattended
- If you start to feel unwell, seek help immediately
- Plan how you will get home
- Don't accept lifts from strangers
- If you feel uncomfortable or in danger, contact venue staff or States of Jersey Police
- Always look out for friends and make sure they get home safely
David Turnbull, Head of the Community Policing Team, is reminding us to celebrate responsibly.
“This festive season, let’s make an extra effort to look out for each other. If you see someone in distress or in need of assistance, offer help or contact us, it could make a significant difference in ensuring that individual has a safe and joyous holiday.”
