On the first day of the big Christmas getaway the runway at Gatwick Airport has been closed twice in a matter of hours - following reports of drones being flown nearby.
Outbound flights have been suspended - with passengers stuck on planes posting videos on social media.
The airport closed its runway from 9pm on Wednesday for six hours before another drone was spotted, forcing a second closure.
Gatwick is advising passengers to check with airlines before travelling.
The disruption comes on the first day of the school Christmas holidays.
More than 27,500 passengers are expected to pass through Jersey Airport over the next five days, with Gatwick being one of the island's key routes.
