Coronavirus: EasyJet Cancels Some Jersey Flights

EasyJet has cancelled several flights, including some to and from Jersey, because of a drop in demand caused by coronavirus concerns.

The airline says services between 13th and 31st of March are affected.

Channel 103 understands passengers booked to go to Liverpool, Manchester, Glasgow and Gatwick are among those who have been contacted.

An easyJet spokesperson says customers are being contacted and moved onto flights operating on the same day - or alternatively, a full refund.

"We can confirm that we have taken the decision to cancel a number of flights following a slowing in demand as a result of concerns over Covid-19.

The cancellations are for some flights between 13 March and 31 March 2020, most of which have multiple daily frequencies.

Customers are being contacted and moved onto flights operating on the same day or alternatively have been offered a full refund. Standard terms and conditions apply on all flights which are unaffected as they will be operating as normal.”

Aurigny says it has seen a drop in sales across its network over the past week, especially on its Guernsey-Gatwick services.

There has also been a rise in 'no shows', believed to be customers fearful of travelling in the wake of the global Covid-19 outbreak.

The airline is cancelling some ATR flights from 9th March - 18th April.
