Car parking charges in Jersey to rise by 7%

It will cost more to park in Jersey's public car parks from this Wednesday (1 May).

A single unit paycard will be seven pence more, up from 97p to £1.04.

Monthly season tickets are also rising by around 7%, to almost £168.

Parking charges were last increased on 1 March 2023, when they rose by 7.5%.

The government says the income from parking fees is used to repair and maintain its car parks, and that Jersey remains one of the cheapest places in the British Isles for parking.

Meanwhile, Infrastructure Minister Andy Jehan has announced that charged will apply at the new Charles Street car park seven days a week (Sundays included) between 8am and 10pm.

"This is a trial to help ensure the car park has capacity for the general public, for Islanders needing spaces and supporting businesses in town. These charging hours will be reviewed later this year."
