POLL: Can This Government Deliver A New Hospital?

Several of the previous plans for a new Hospital in Jersey.

States Members will decide this week how to proceed in delivering a new hospital for Jersey.

Plans to redevelop the existing site on Gloucester Street have been denied planning permission twice in 12 months. Now the location could be taken off the table altogether.

Deputy Russell Labey will ask that the previous States Assembly decision to make it the preferred location be rescinded. The Council of Ministers has said it will support that move.

Discussions will also include whether to start again from scratch choosing an alternative location, and whether St Helier's green spaces should be protected from any future hospital development plans.

On the eve of this week’s debate into what to do next, Channel 103 is seeking to gauge public feeling by asking if you are confident the States can deliver a new hospital for the island.
