Bulls Season Over, Along With Promotion Dream

Despite winning every game they have played in their debut season, Jersey Bulls won't be promoted from the Combined Counties Division One.

The FA has announced that all step three to six football seasons have been ended because of coronavirus, and the results expunged.

It means there will be no relegation from or promotion to the southern and northern sections of the competition.

Jersey Bulls had already done enough to be promoted to the Premier Division,

The set a new league record, with 27 successive victories, and had achieved 81 points and scored 99 goals at the point that matches were suspended earlier this month.

At the time, manager Gary Freeman told Channel 103 he was 'delighted'.

In a statement today, the club says it is disappointed, but extremely proud of its efforts and grateful to supporters.

The Jersey FA has made a statement too, announcing the end of grassroots and Combination football for 2019/20:

"The FA has today confirmed that all grassroots league football is now over for the 2019-20 season, to allow the game to move forward. This includes football in Jersey and means there will be no further Jersey FA Combination matches in the current campaign."

It adds that there will now be consultation to with clubs on how to 'close out' the current competitions.
