Passports Go Back To Blue From This Week

Islanders who apply for a new passport will now get a blue one from this week.

Jersey passports are printed in the UK, meaning the island has to follow the country's decision to redesign the documents after Brexit.

The new passports will also need to be physically signed when they're received, rather than being printed with a signature on.

Anyone with an existing burgundy passport can continue using it until its expiry date.

Islanders who apply for a passport will start to be issued the new blue Jersey variant British passport from this week,...

The previous blue passports were phased out in 1988 when members of the then European Economic Community agreed to a consistent design.

Islanders should apply online for passports.

The government is recommending people check their passports validity and renew them if needed to ensure they are prepared for any ease in the Covid-19 travel restrictions.
