A five day celebration of books begins today with the return of the Jersey Festival of Words.
Now in its fifth year, it sees big name writers visit the island with their latest literary works.
The 2019 programme includes comedian and novelist Jenny Eclair talking about her new book Inheritance; TV presenter turned triathlete and legendary sailor Sir Robin Knox-Johnston.
Ana Sampson, Diane Atkinson, Raynor Winn, Leah Hazard and Janet Hoggarth are also on the bill.
The festival features a host of events for schoolchildren including opportunities to hear from Laura Coryton, author of 'Speak Up'; poet A.F Harold and former Blue Peter presenter Konnie Huq who has created a book series for 7-12 year old about the adventures of science-obessed 'Cookie'.
Other events for families include the launch of the Jerriais version of Julia Donaldson's The Gruffalo and storytelling on the beach at Gorey on Saturday.
