Jersey's 33rd Island Walk will see more than 1,500 people tackling the 48.1-mile trek, starting in the early hours of Saturday morning (15 June).
Islanders and keen walkers from across the world make the middle-of-the-night-trip to the start line at Elizabeth Harbour each year to raise money for charity by participating in the TMF Island Walk.
This year, 20% more people have signed up to take on one of the four challenges, with the addition of a new route compared to 2022.
Rob Syvret, Chair of Trustees, says it has been fantastic seeing the number of people waiting to be involved.
"The support of the local community has been overwhelming.
"We were really sorry to have to close registration early, and there will be no registration on the night either, but because of the unprecedented demand we've just had to do that."
Walkers now have the option to tackle the 48.1-mile individual walk, the relay, Lieutenant Governor's Challenge or the new ONE TMF Challenge.
Typically those not walking the total coastal route join a team of four and do around 12 miles each. Or they do the LG's route, which is a quarter of the total distance and this year's stretch is from the start to St Catherine's.
The new ONE TMF Challenge will see islanders starting from Bel Royal, and walking to the finish line at the Waterfront.
The Island Walk's team wants to smash its goal of £100,000 this year.
A handful of charities are selected to benefit from the walk annually, for 2024 this includes:
- RNLI Jersey;
- Trees For Life Jersey;
- Skate Space;
- Family First;
- National Trust Jersey;
- Sanctuary Trust;
- Wednesday Night FC;
- Variety;
- And, Healing Waves.
