Stormy Weather Set To Cause Further Travel Disruption

More travel disruption is expected this evening and tomorrow, as the torrential weather conditions continue.

Strong winds of up to 70mph are expected, with flooding due along the south coast once again.

Victoria Avenue is due to be closed again this evening and tomorrow morning around an hour before high tide (19:38 and 07:54)

Islanders are asked to stay away from coastal areas to avoid unnecessary danger because of the risk of flying debris, including stones.

A decision will be made tomorrow morning as to whether other coastal roads will close.

LibertyBus will run as normal, although there may be delays or disruptions because of temporary road closures.

All schools and colleges are set to be open tomorrow as usual, but like today, allowances will be given for lateness because of the conditions.

Strong winds and torrential downpours have caused travel chaos already this afternoon.

There's also a mudslide on a bend heading town Les Varines, and a collapsing wall.

Jersey endured wind speeds of nearly 80mph overnight due to Storm Ciara, with the strong winds and rain continuing throughout the day.
