Tamara’s Knitted Toppers Celebrate The Island Games

Island Games themed post-box toppers have popped up in Guernsey's parishes.

Tamara O’Brien has knitted 14 new woolen artworks that take pride of place around on post boxes across Guernsey's parishes.

They each depict a different sport that will take place in Guernsey next week.

Tamara's creations have been popular in the past, celebrating Christmas, Pride, and the King's Coronation.

She says this project took a lot of time and a lot of wool:

"I just want to cheer up the community, celebrate the fantastic Island Games coming over, and raise as much money for local charities as possible."

Each piece has a QR code that will take people directly to a donation page, which will benefit four local charities: The Priaulx Premature Baby Foundation, Friends of Frossard Ward, Health Connections, and Greenacres Dementia Centre.

After the week of sports, the toppers will be auctioned off to raise more for the chosen charities.
