Hundreds of people in Guernsey will gather at Vale Castle in the early hours of Sunday morning to raise awareness about suicide prevention and support.

This will be the fourth "Walk of Hope" organised by mental health charity Guernsey Mind, which aims to challenge the stigma and help the community open up to talk about the issue and the impact it has on those affected.

Participants of all ages will meet at Vale Castle at 4am on Sunday 30 June before setting off on the 5K route to the Bathing Pools at La Vallette.

Guernsey Mind CEO Jo Cottell says the walk is a "testament to the strength and resilience of our community".

She explained: "Many participants walk in memory of loved ones, wearing their names on the back of their shirts.

"The atmosphere is one of compassion, solidarity and support, reminding us that no one has to walk alone in their journey."
