Election Recount: Results

The results of the recount of votes in Guernsey's general election have been announced.

There is no change to declared make-up of Guernsey's States following the recount that has taken place this weekend.

The Bailiff has posted the results of the second count at the Royal Court.  The 38 candidates elected remains the same.

The recount was requested by four candidates who missed out on a top 38 finish.

Pierre Ehmann, Catherine Hall, Scott Ogier and Garry Collins asked for the ballot papers to be re-examined.

Elections volunteers returned to Beau Sejour on Saturday morning.  The recount was paused at 6pm and resumed on Sunday morning.

The original count began at 9am on Thursday 7 October and the results were declared shortly after 1am on Friday 9 October.

The island's first ever island-wide general election drew a voter turnout of 79%.
