Covid Countries: England Upgrade Imminent

England could be moved onto Guernsey’s Group B Watch List of counties imminently, the government has warned.

The authorities have also added that it could then become a Group A destination in the following days.

That would mean anyone arriving into the Bailiwick from England would have to self isolate for 14 days, without the option of a test on day 7.

Hungary and Italy have gone on the Watch List, while Iceland has come off it.

The full list of countries can be found here.

The UK has recorded nearly 6,000 positive coronavirus cases in the past two days.

England's deputy chief medical officer Professor Jonathan Van-Tam has warned people there have 'relaxed too much' and that the country could be in for a 'bumpy' few months.

Guernsey has recorded its first case of Covid-19 in 129 days - picked up in a person who'd come from the UK following their 7 day test.  They had been isolating.

The States of Guernsey is holding a press conference at 1pm today which 'will address potential updates to Group A and Group B countries'.
