CI Mobile Providers Say They Are Not Blocking OTPs

Sure, JT and Airtel Vodafone say an increasing number of islanders are reporting that they are not receiving their One-Time Password (OTP) messages.

In a rare joint statement, the Channel Islands' mobile providers have assured customers that they are not blocking OTPs.

The codes are often sent by banks and retailers to confirm your identity.

They are advising those who have been affected to contact the business directly, to make them aware of the issue and to allow them to investigate the problem.

The three operators are working to collate data to highlight to businesses the growing problem of undelivered messages to their customers, along with recommendations to ensure the delivery of those messages.

In most instances, businesses will offer an alternative verification method such as via email, an app, or call back.

The phone companies are suggesting that islanders use one of those in the short-term until they have resolved the issue.
