Channel Islands won't lose Greggs and TGI Fridays as Iceland moves to Alliance

Iceland brands moving to Alliance

Alliance has struck a deal with Iceland to stock its frozen goods in the Channel Islands, keeping them available to shoppers here when the existing stores close.

The frozen food chain has announced a new franchise partnership with independent retailer Alliance, which has four stores in Jersey and one in Guernsey.

They will start stocking Iceland's ranges from next week, starting with selected Christmas products in freezers at the Braye Road outlet in Guernsey.

That store will be rebranded a 'Food Warehouse' in January, becoming the first such Iceland offering out of the UK.

The arrangement means brands such as Greggs, TGI Fridays, and My Protein will continue to be available in the Channel Islands.

Iceland currently operates 10 franchise stores in the Channel Islands in partnership with Sandpiper CI. Following the recent acquisition of Sandpiper CI's franchise operations by Morrisons, the Iceland and Sandpiper CI partnership has ended.  Existing Iceland branding and products will go from the current outlets by June 2025.

Morrisons is yet to announce details of its future plans for acquired sites.
