Guernsey Police have named the man who died in a single vehicle car crash on Saturday morning (10 February)
It appears that 79-year-old Nicola Bonanni's car hit the granite wall and cap stone at the bottom of the Val des Terres around 9.30AM.
He was taken to the Princess Elizabeth Hospital by ambulance but the service confirmed that he died there a short time later.
The road was closed for several hours afterwards.
Police are offering their condolences to Mr Bonanni's family and friends.
They say they're still investigating and anyone with information is asked to call the station and ask for PC Tom Wright.
