Jersey Overseas Aid (JOA) is proud to support UNHCR; the UN Refugee Agency, and the Rohingya refugees who have fled violence and persecution in Myanmar. Over a 1,000,000 Rohingya now reside in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh, making it one of the largest refugee camps in the world.
To highlight the resilience, suffering and dignity of the Rohingya community, JOA is launching the European premiere of The Rohingya Experience - an outdoor photography exhibition produced by Rohingyatographer, an internationally revered collective of Rohingya refugee photographers.
This moving exhibition trail will be showcased across seven locations in St. Helier, and demonstrates how the transformative power of photography can give a voice to the stateless, provide a platform for visual storytelling and offer a glimpse into life in the camps through the eyes of Rohingya youth
