Over the summer, ArtHouse Jersey worked with leading Finnish sculptural artist Kaarina Kaikkonen to create a large-scale new public art work, Dancing Together, in Charing Cross. This marked the first piece in the newly launched Butterfield Public Art Series. The artwork opened in August until October, but has now been reimagined in an immersive gallery environment at ArtHouse Jersey at Capital House.
After an Island-wide call-out to collect shirts and the stories of these shirts given to be part of Dancing Together, the gallery exhibition will also provide a space to read and listen to some of the fascinating, endearing and funny stories that these shirts held before they became a part of this extraordinary artwork.
Open Tuesday - Sunday 10:30am to 6pm
On 1 November there will be a free artist talk at 6pm in Capital House. Kaarina will be discussing the ideas around Dancing Together, how it was made and the evolution of her artworks over 40 years.
